Highly-ordered pyrolytic graphite, Grade ZYB DESCRIPTION HOPG is often used asa standard testing sample for Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM).It is a highly-ordered pyrolytic graphite calibration standard that is 12mm x 12mm, 2mm thick, ZYB grade, and unmounted. Pyrolytic Graphite (PG) is a unique form of graphite manufactured by decomposition of a hydrocarbon gas at very high temperature in a vacuum furnace. The result is an ultra-pure product which is near theoretical density and extremely anisotropic.
